People call us weird because of this,
Even ”out of the norm”.
My wife Josy and I did not have a TV at home. Not a single one. And People, my family, were talking about that nonstop. Even yesterday, at an extended family gathering, I was still asked the question. How’s homeschooling going? Do you have a TV at home now? They were asking things like what you do at home if you don’t have a TV..?
Are YOU serious?
What people were doing before television was invented… in my opinion, they were waiting on the couch watching the clock tick. Everybody stayed on the sofa at home, watching the clock tick. Yes, I think that’s true.
But the backstory that led to a TV-free home is a little different.
My son Tom the DESTROYER, broke three TVs with a stick. In case you’re not aware, Tom has two modes: Climb and Destroy. So, I went to the retailer to see if there was a manufacturing defect on my son, but apparently, it’s made like this. Nothing more I could do. Climb or destroy.
This week I even found it clinging to the living room curtains…
We decided to stop buying them and wait until they were a little older. But we immediately saw the benefits of a world without TV. Less frustration, less anger, more creativity and better family time. And more free time.
This is not intended to convince you not to have a TV, far from it.
I make decisions that I believe, based on my current knowledge, are best for me and my family. Like my policy of not personally answering questions from Yann Brainy subscribers. It’s a way of protecting my sanity and my valuable time. Instead, I address your best questions on Fridays for the benefit of all Yann Brainy subscribers.
If I’d no kids, no wife, and a desire to make as much moolah as possible, regardless of the time invested, I’d probably create a funnel to book calls with a sales team selling either an affiliate product or my own.
This works, but implies a mediocre quality of life, the pressure of managing a team, hiring, little time available for oneself… that’s why many well-known creators burn out.
No bueno.
But do you know what works better?
I know a better way. Go underground. Like this newsletter, it’s not visible to everyone; only the most determined or those who delve deeply into the subject will find this newsletter. In short, you’re lucky to have found this and prove that you have what it takes to succeed.
Sometimes I pinch myself because I can’t believe it takes less time than watching a TV show to manage all this.
If you’re interested, I’m opening up a few coaching spots this week. Of course, it’s expensive and I reserve the right to turn people away. That’s the beauty of it, I get to choose who I work with.
