I’m planning today for what we do (almost) every year, but this year, there will be a slight… change for Maggy, my daughter.

(Oh…oh…) 

…I’m staying in Laval, a suburb of Montreal, Quebec, where the national sport is ice hockey and everyone here loves winter. For me, I HATE winter… and I HATE ice hockey.

I think inside of me, I come from Cali or Miami, not sure.

So when winter’s over and spring cleaning arrives, I’m ready to rip my shirt off. At this time of year, in Quebec, it’s also time for something almost magical, and I can already feel the excitement in the air. We stroll the streets with a bit of pocket change and a good cup of coffee for:

The garage sale season!

and with 4 kids and a wife, you accumulate a lot of stuff.

In case you don’t know wut is it, you set up tables and chairs in front of your house and sell your old stuff, and then you spend everything you make during the day at a restaurant.

But this year. Magalie is going to learn how to sell. The hard way. Face-to-face with old products.

It’s like going to school to learn to sell, but in the case of Maggy, we are homeschooling.

I AM THE CAP’Tain TEACHER now!

I remember my father telling me that he used to pass the day’s paper door-to-door as his first job, earning about $4 a week (I don’t remember the exact amount, but it was something like that) and his father kindly offered to drive with him to go faster, which my father accepted.

At the end of the trip, his father (who is my grandfather), asked him for $1 for the ride.

LOL

If you do the math, by the end of the week, he’d be in debt for work haha.

The next day, his father asked him ”Do you want a ride today son?”.

”No, no, that’s okay, I’ll work it out..” – replied my young dad.

Fast forward to 2025, Yann Brainy has much more sophisticated tricks to teach his daughter Maggy how to sell and ”to be correct, I’ll work it out” eventually. I have a plan for her to practice various sales techniques so that she can effectively sell information products online. That way, she’ll be able to do what she wants in life and won’t get “caught” in a situation where she feels caught.
