I’m probably going to offend a few people on my list today:
Those who think a sales page is absolutely essential to selling a product online. They’re not even capable of thinking for themselves and will probably share my email on social media to seek confirmation from others who are as blind as them.
Sales pages have almost no impact on whether you will sell your stuff.
In most cases, they are not even required..
Now I hear ya all the ”sales pages boii and gurl” out there. Charging a really high price for almost nothing when something more efficient could replace it.
If a sales page were all you needed, every coach or affiliate with one would be rich. But it’s not the case.. In fact, we are in a trust recession and a sales page won’t fix this. Shockers? You might have spent weeks writing, editing, tweaking colors, and adding testimonials… but still no clients or sales.
Here’s the proof.
I made a really simple sales page for IP24, a product you can consume in around 30 minutes, to show you how to create a good info product that sells and even sells your next product. IMO, it’s the first thing to learn if you want to succeed online, but I am biased..
With that skill, you have many more opportunities. You can drive paid traffic for free when you have a product to sell, and then you can upsell them with affiliate products or your product for more profits.
It serves also to identify the buyers on your list as well.
All you need in your sales pages is a headline, subheadline, maybe a paragraph or two and the buy buttons. Datts it.
You know why?
In most cases, the sales are done before they land on your page because you use warm traffic. You can also just send the traffic to an order form from your email —no sales page is needed.
Look at my page for IP24. It’s the worst sales page ever. Honestly, I can’t name a uglier, less effective sales page than mine. Seriously..
And still, I made sales, lots of them. People will buy IP24 with or without a sales page.
The truth? Sales pages aren’t broken. But they’re not what you think.
I see several discussions on Reddit about sales pages. Is it better to have a long or short form? Is it better to have an “ugly” sales page or a more modern look? What are the mandatory elements for this to work?
My opinion?
Not necessary at all. If you’re just getting started, don’t waste your time with a sales page if you want to sell online courses, coaching programs or any other digital product.
It’s more of a distraction than anything else…
But what if I offered sales page writing services? Maybe I’d say something like it’s essential for people to buy my services. But no, I’m too honest for that. I’m recommending things I know will help you get ahead in your online biz and sales page is not one of them.
BUT.
Yann Brainy doesn’t live under a rock, don’t worry. If you focus on cold traffic, then a good sales page makes sense. Otherwise, no way.
Instead of fixing your sales page this week… try to build a relationship with your list. See what happens.
I can name a few under-the-radar top marketers who don’t have a sales page. They don’t even promote their coaching, and they are fully booked..
Now, if you want to learn how to create a good infoproduct for your business, then IP24 might be what you need. Don’t worry, if you can just write a headline, subheadline and add a buy button, you will be fine:
*There is no refund for this product like all my products
*This product is really short and can be consumed in 30 minutes. If you judge by the number of pages, you will be disappointed.
*Think twice before buying, even if it’s less than 20$, because I don’t want impulsive buyers, they are a pain in the aZZ.
