I missed four calls from my wife Josy this morning with an interval of about 2 seconds between each call:
Something’s wrong, I thought. She’s away with the 4 kids… So I dial the speed dial on my phone in a panic mode.
“Hello?!?”, I say with an inquiring tone.
”A red light has just come on in the caravan.”
”What does it look like??!”
”A battery … but red..”
(I have no mechanical skills, but I’m a man, so I have to let it appear that I have mechanical skills to maintain the image of masculinity in society – So I open a page on Google while talking to my wife and type) :
”RED LIGHT, BATTERY, CARAVAN, PROBLEM”
Here’s the answer:
”If your Dodge Grand Caravan battery warning light comes on while driving, be sure to turn off your accessories, so the battery doesn’t deposit further. The warning light usually means that the alternator isn’t working accurately meaning you are operating solely on battery power.”
I answer my wife confidently, Ahhh the red battery, it’s an alternator problem.

The problem is that it’s a bank holiday weekend at the moment and all the garages are closed… So we’re stuck without a car for four days!
And that’s when I think back to the signs she’d given us recently… There were a few strange noises, but we just turned up the music to solve the problem. And here we are..
I should have paid attention, but sometimes you do so many things at once that you don’t really see the signs or pay attention. It’s the same with online designers. When you’re on your own, you’re so busy with everything… social networks… online product creation… customer service… that you can’t concentrate on what’s really important.
That’s why I’ve built my online business with as few distractions as possible, allowing me to listen to the signs. And the only sign I look at is my sales. Are they progressing from month to month or not. That’s it. I don’t have any chaos in my business.
