Yesterday morning, I was all alone at home since my daughter Maggy had a medical appointment with my wife Josy and Theo; Tom & Zack were at daycare, so I took the opportunity to browse passively on Reddit.
I came across a comment that brought back memories of my first job in sales. A very difficult job. Selling cold call telephone advertising with only a phone book. Very high call volume, frantic colleagues, and a lot of energy. It was like something out of The Wolf on Wall Street.
In short, I learned a lot there.
But “THE BOSS” was very tough on employees; he didn’t let anyone walk all over him and even created a climate of terror on the premises. When he’d say something to you, you’d say: “Yes, sir!
One day, a new employee arrives. He introduces himself in front of everyone and says “I’m going to be the best salesman here”. Then you know right away that he’s going to finish last on the floor in the sales results. It didn’t take long before he was noticed by “THE BOSS”, who made a rather direct comment to the new employee.
But what he did surprised me…
HE REPLIED IN THE SAME WAY HE HAD BEEN SPOKEN TO.
(Whispering began)
”he’s gonna get fired”
”It takes a big package to do that”
“ouff”
But nothing ever happened…
I went to see him afterwards and asked him how he did that and why…? It takes courage.
(I was young and naive at the time).
He said don’t ever let yourself talk like that; you break it from the start. secondly, I have money saved and other sources of income coming in every month, so I’m not stressed about losing my job. I’m not vulnerable. When you’ve only got one source of income, you’re vulnerable, you can drop very quickly to zero source of income.
WOW!
It wasn’t long after that that I started to invest myself online so as not to be “vulnerable”. I talk the way I want to whoever I want. It’s very easy online; you just have to create an audience for a particular problem and sell the solution to that problem, and that’s it. If you don’t want to show your face for fear of reprisals or whatever, you can go faceless.
The good news is that all this is shown in this program.

P.S. As for replying to a rude boss, I am pretty sure there are other ways than that, but having multiple sources of income is a pretty solid way to do it in my opinion. However, I am somewhat biased towards this option.
