Honey, I just got pitched to revamp my ”Funnel”.. what’s a funnel?, ask my wife.
My ears perked up instantly, just like a predator that hears prey nearby. A trigger word! (Hey… I’m a murketing geek, I could have done the 25-hour speech that senator did this week but on marketing).
As I prepared to say something like ”Oh! it’s just a simple website designed to focus your attention on only one specific action you want the person to take”, I said instead:
”Ah, no, let it go; it’s nothing. Don’t answer him. Cold pitch. No relation has been built. He wants your monee”.
”Ok okay, thanks”, she replied.
For context, my wife has no interest in marketing; she doesn’t care, and she’d rather puke in her purse than listen to marketing podcast/books/courses. She’s a nurse and possibly one of the best nurses I’ve ever known. Thoughtful, hard-working and always there for others. But if we’re talking about murketing, forget it!!
Even if I gently whisper words like funnels, A/B testing and info-product to her at night, she does not have any shivers, unlike me. I know .. I’ve been trying for more than 10 years..
But that craziest part,
… it took her three days to make her first sale online, thanks to a secret weapon. Less than 30 days for her first 4-figure sales (it was the same person who bought her ebook).
Three days..
Think about it! We started from the bottom, and now we are here.
I gave her advice and let her do the work because I wanted her to be independent about it, and she did like 95% wrong. And it still worked… because the remaining 5% was very well executed.
However, she still managed to accomplish what she did. The problem was that her only source of traffic was on social media, and she exhausted herself producing more and more short-form content with our four children. Then, the niche she chose wasn’t validated at the beginning. But, she really wanted to pick this niche!
Currently, we’re brainstorming her following product in a different niche and the strategy we need to adopt to avoid being caught up in the social media craze. I can tell you it’s going to be a SLAM DUNK. She’s hesitating between two very, very solid niches that need something new and they will have it.
I can tell you, though, that she is going to use the information here to create her first product to attract the right customers. My wife’s situation is not out of the ordinary, because she had someone show her the right way to sell, making it as simple as possible to get started. She does not know this field and she succeeded. That’s the starting point of any online business, no matter what path you choose, whether affiliate or your own product.

P.S. * If you’re someone who judges the value of something by the number of pages, don’t click because you’ll be disappointed.
