I went to the Reddit Lab yesterday to experiment. I made a post about not ”seeing any value in AI” and ”AI S*ck” and here are some of the answers I’ve received that make me smile:
”Good – keep that attitude. Makes you easier to beat.”
”Ahhh the boomer skill gap fallacy. People said this about calculators too. You’ll get there eventually.”
”You will realize one day and it will be late for you to adapt”
”Sounds like a skill issue”.
and that one…
”Right. What else do you not see any value in? Computers? Cars? Calculators? The wheel?”
(I laughed at that one, though)
People were mad at me haha!
and… even .. some comments written by AI haha.
Someone replies to the AI comments with:
//
”Your last line (on the AI comments) is ironic considering you copied an AI’s response and didn’t say much.
You said exactly what his post (he was talking about my post) is saying. How dumb can one person be lmao”
//
Amazing!
I knew I was going to get hate emails/comments about this from the brain-washers (they cannot think by themselves now), but I’m being honest with who I am:
I find no value in AI. I just think it’s bad. I look at the writing done by the AI and it’s bad. I look at the “AI agent” for customer service who’s supposed to replace secretaries and take inbound calls, and it’s bad. Everything that’s out there, from a marketing point of view, it’s bad.
There may be areas where it’s useful, I have no idea, but not in marketing.
And when you watch Youtubes videos about this, the ”Liars” Youtubers present their latest ”hacks” with the AI to generate income, but the way they make their income, is never related to the method they present with the AI. I wonder how they sleep at night, uploading their videos and knowing that some people will watch them and invest time and money in their method. They must take pills to sleep actually, otherwise I don’t know how they do it.
They might not have soul and they probably drink their coffee ”black”. No milk. No cream. No sugar.
When I subscribe to email lists and I see that it’s written by GPT, I unsubscribe on the spot and the person is BLOCKED… not even able to write their own stuff. As if it wasn’t important for their subscriber.
For my part, I’m aiming for the mom & pop shop effect for my online business. That my audience, my customers, feel as if they’ve been coming to my virtuel store with me for 30 years, that they know me personally and that we have a relationship. It may not be as fast as elsewhere, it may not be as beautiful as elsewhere, my English may not be perfect (it’s my second language), but it’s authentic. You feel in an environment that you’re comfortable buying and spending your hard-earned money. You’ll get honest advice, not something that you want to hear, but something you need to hear.
The mom & pop shop effect for online businesses.
On the other hand, there are the big surface stores where it’s cold, you have trouble finding a clerk to help you and the material sold isn’t of the highest quality… it’s like with AI.
If you want to sell something online, you would better write your own stuff or make your own video (it could be faceless with your voice, it works great as well).
Those who use AI for this will ”MAKE THEM EASIER TO BEAT”
It’s like my welcome email sequence. I hesitated to put one in, but not like the others with :
Email 1 – ”who I am”
Email 2 – ”introduce a problem”
Email 3- “agitate”
Email 4- ”present a solution”
No way.
I finally opted for just one email to deliver the freebie I’d promised. For the rest, people receive emails that I write myself on a daily basis. For their first email, they may come across a more controversial email or… something they don’t like, but that’s fine, because it’s my person. If they don’t like it, they just unsubscribe. If they like it, they can forward it to their friends.
And if they don’t like the fact that I send 1, 2 or 3 e-mails a day, they can unsubscribe, no more serious than that either. For me, it allows me to filter out those who aren’t serious about building their online business from my perspective. Those who are offended because I sell in every one of my e-mails, anyway, that’s not the type of audience I want. It filters them out automatically.
This model allows me to homeschool my 4 children and enjoy life with my wife Josy. To slow down time and really enjoy it.
If you are interested in learning more, this is a 5-day challenge to get you started. Obviously, it’s paid and you can start for 5$.
