Worrying about everything and anything wasn’t really part of me when I was younger, but having kids changes everything, at least for me. Are they okay? Are they going to be okay later? Will they be okay when I’m gone? These are questions we continually ask ourselves.
That’s why my wife and I homeschool in a certain way: to protect them, to spend as much time with them as possible, and to pass on the values that I find traditional schooling no longer transmits.
Besides, I find it absurd that someone who can afford to home-school doesn’t take that option. Having an online business allowed me to do just that, and I made it happen.
While everyone’s talking about “generational wealth” on social media, I’m talking about something different: generational knowledge. There are many examples of people who inherit a lot of money with lucky tickets and end up on the street a few years later. The same goes for top athletes and actors. They don’t have the knowledge to know what to do with so many resources.
I know, it’s crazy.
There’s a very high risk of losing everything if you give them a large sum of money without them having the knowledge. It’s just like the saying:
”Don’t give a man a fish, teach him how to fish”
If I have a complete life with them, and I wish to, I’m going to show them how to sell. That’s the number 1 skill to develop. Once you have that, you can do anything with your life. You can spend your days writing novels that nobody will read, painting all day. Take yoga classes in the AM and end up at the spa in the PM if you feel like it.
One of my focuses, when they’re old enough, around age 10-12, will be their education in marketing and sales.
On the other hand, if time is short and I need to give them a “quick” education in case I’m away. Here are three books I recommend they read. And, I’m going to specifically mention READING EACH BOOK SEVERAL TIMES and even reading them every 6 months. Each time you re-read the same book, you’ll learn something new, something that went unnoticed the time before, because you may not have known to detect that nuance.

This can be summed up by filling your brain with good material, avoiding the news, which is anxiety-provoking, consuming your energy trying to solve problems you can’t, and wasting precious time.
Be fearless, be yourself, and don’t try to please everyone. Nothing good happens in the gray zone. Choose a side.
